Green Day Tour 2009

That's right. Green Day is going on tour this year in Europe and North America and tickets are going on sale this weekend for many of the shows. The rest of the shows onsales are the following week. Singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool are going on tour to support their new album due out in the middle of May "21st Century Breakdown."

The tour kicks off July 3 in Seattle before heading to Canada for a few dates. The group will play in 38 cities across North America during the trek, which wraps Aug. 25 in Inglewood, CA. Then in September, Green Day embarks on their European leg of the tour.

The pop-punk trio are supporting their first album in five years, "21st Century Breakdown," which hits stores May 15.
