The Flight of the Conchords Are All Cleared for Take Off in '09

The dynamic duo are going to be flying high in 2009. Air traffic control has given the green light, the flight attendants have gone through their routine. My seat belt is secure, I know where all the exits are and my seat is in the upright position.

We are ready for for take off. Let us join The Flight of the Conchords.

These two guitar-strumming funnymen are taking their HBO show on the road and performing live in concert in venues throughout America.

Here's the 2009 tour schedule for the two New Zealanders Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement:

The tour is intended to match the release of the Conchords newest album, which will be distributed by their label, Sub Pop.

Ed Condran reviewed the Conchord's during their 2008 tour, writing for the Seattle Times before "The Flight of the Conchords Land at Sasquatch" that, "the shows have been standing-room only.... It's not difficult to understand why FOTC tickets are a tough get. Their HBO show is consistently funny and entertaining. Clement and McKenzie possess an undeniable chemistry just like bandmates in a straight act."

There's always something really cool about being at a live show where the act is at the same time funny and musical. Of course this can sometimes go horribly wrong. But if done properly, the show can be rockin'. I think the Conchords do it right.

So to continue with my lame commercial flying metaphor, be sure to pay for checking your second bag in, pay for your headphones, pay for your bag of peanuts, buy a nip bottle of whiskey or something and mix it with your Coke, put your seat back and listen to the illustrious Flight of the Conchords.
